In Better Shape Than I Thought!

I walked for an hour and fifteen minutes tonight – outside, on a track – and I could have kept going but it got dark!
It seems like just a couple of weeks ago that I could barely do a half hour!!

Wow.

Oh, and my knee doesn’t hurt! But I’m going to ice it anyway, just in case.

I am way excited! Like way!!

What do you know about Hoodia?

Wednesday – gym day – and the kids ASKED to go to the track with me and they want to take soccer balls so when they get bored on the playground they can play soccer and practice kicking.

WHA? This good example thing is working already??

So…

Breakfast – english muffin, peanut butter, nectarine, milk

Lunch – ???

Dinner – Small turkey sandwich, salad

Snack – Tomatoes, cottage cheese

Today is going to be a bit weird because my husband has to work late but I still want to get to the track by 7:30 so I can finish up by dark.  Totally doable – he may just have to hang out and wait for us to be done before we go pick him up.

So what do you know about Hoodia? I started hearing the stories about it a couple of years ago and I was DYING to try it, but I waited until a couple of months ago to actually buy it because I was waiting to hear about all the horrible side effects.  The worst I heard is that it doesn’t really work…and I have to be honest and say most of the time I completely forget that I have it.  You’re supposed to take it an hour before your biggest meal.  I just plain forget – so I guess my question is – is it worth remembering?

Sunday is the Day I Get My Booty Kicked

Jeff and I walked SIX MILES! SIX MILES!!!!

I am so proud of me! He runs marathons, so this was not such a big deal for him, but for me it was a BREAKTHROUGH. 4 miles was my record. WOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!

Breakfast: The usual, although I did use plain non-fat yogurt, 1 tsp honey, 1/2 tsp vanilla, and I added a nectarine and it was not as sweet as the high-fructose corn syrup yogurt , but it was totally healthy and I knew what was in it, because I made it!

Lunch – Leftover whole wheat pasta primavera and cheese

Dinner – Japanese – Salad, Shrimp and Broccoli, extra veggies, NO RICE! :)

I do need to get better about menu planning.  The weekends are especially hard for some reason.

Day Two

Healthy Breakfast: English muffin, 1/2 tsp margarine, poached egg, light yogurt, strawberries, giant cup of tea with lemon (antioxidants, also good for the sinus infection I think is brewing!)

Exercise: Walking a 5k cross country trail with my friend Jeff. Jeff used to be fat but, being gay, he knew he had to lose weight to catch himself a man! :)   Now he and his partner run marathons. He understands the struggles of losing weight and, since we have been friends for almost 10 years, he knows how much of a THING this is for me.  Update: we walked for an hour and 15 minutes!

Then, if it DOESN’T rain I will finish the freaking grass!

Lunch – london broil, salad, pita, water and lemon

Snack – depends on what I find at the grocery store, some sort of fruit and protein

Dinner – Meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes, kale

Also, I just turned OFF the Food Network. I love love love it BUT the chef said something about needing bacon on everything to make it taste good and I thought – I CANNOT lose weight and listen to this all the time!
